Gemstone Ring Activity Kit

What better way to get introduced to the exciting world of gemstones than to use the gemstones you've found and identified to make a ring you get to keep? Kids learn gemstone classification as they search for and identify their gems.

Ages 8 and up.

Unit Goals and Concepts: 

• Understand the difference between rocks and minerals.
• Discover the elements of mineral identification and classification.
• Listen to stories about minerals like quartz and amethyst.

• Rings and stones for each participant.
• A gemstone collection card.
• Special glue for attaching the gem to the ring.
