Assemble your very own bird feeder! Made from recycled cedar fencing, the finished dimensions are 7" x 7" x 7". Kit includes: 6 wood pieces, 2 acrylic/plastic windows, nails, twine and sandpaper. Pilot holes have been pre-drilled to make assembly easier.
Nature-Watch is pleased to partner on this kit with Elpis, a non-profit organization that offers training and employment programs to teens and young adults who have been impacted by homelessness. Elpis works with local contractors to source pieces of cedar wood that are leftover when boards are cut to specific lengths needed for fence building and other projects. From there, the training and employment programs offered by Elpis enable young adults to turn those remaining pieces into wonderful woodcraft kits. By offering this kit we are helping to fund these wonderful programs.
Assembly required. Everything needed to assemble the kit is included except for a hammer and birdseed.
Please note that once your birdhouse is complete, you will simply slide the roof up along the string to open the house so that you can fill with birdseed. Each birdfeeder holds about two cups of birdseed.
Ages 8 and up with adult supervision. Please take all necessary safety steps when working with tools and nails.
