At Nature Watch, we rang in the new year by stocking up with new classroom products for our catalog to engage your students. Over the last few weeks, we’ve introduced a number of new crafts and activities to help you avoid the mid-year slump.
In September everything in your classroom is new and fresh to those wide-eyed youths. However, around this time the “been there, done that” of young learners may have you wanting for new materials to enhance your winter/spring curricula. Treat yourself and your students to enough new resources that take you through the end of the school year.
Our New Educational Classroom Products for Kids
Bee Vigilant
Protect the bees before these integral creatures become further at risk. We know the important role that honey bees play in our eco-system and why it’s necessary to educate students from a young age in the preservation of these insects. Nature Watch has recently introduced the Mason Bee House activity kit, to help children better understand this particular species of bee. Mason Bees like to nest in hollow stems or holes made by insects in dead wood. Give each child the opportunity to make and take home their own Mason Bee House to observe these critical pollinators in their own habitat.
NEW Kemtec Learning Kits are Here
From waves and beach erosion, to electromagnetic science and circuitry, our Kemtec resources provide hands-on experimentation to help students draw their own conclusions. Got amateur sleuths and fans of CSI in your midst? Get the crime scene and crime solving kits. Would-be meteorologists will love engaging with thermometers, barometers, anemometers, wind vanes, and rain gauges. And with the recent volcano activity in New Zealand, you can help students better understand eruptions with safe stimulated lava. Future geneticists can start learning about DNA with genetic kits, while industrious engineers build their own cars. These are just some of the new Kemtec teacher and science tools and resources available and indispensable to your classroom.
The Stars Align for Learning in the New Year
Young astronomers will love our new selection of constellation cards that glow in the night sky. Introduce Greek and Roman mythology, world history and the early explorers of the globe by following the stars.
Learning on Display
Nature Watch also has new display classroom products to help you illustrate insects like the sunset moth, mammal skulls, mollusks, and invasive species. Plus, our sea sponges, echinoderms, hard and soft shell corals bring the seaside into the classroom; and new fungi, plant-life, wood, and grain displays give students an up-close look into the miniscule detail of common substances.
Extra. Extra. Read All About It.
Despite the deluge of online learning and tablet accessibility in schools, no classroom is complete without, wait for it….actual books. Colorful illustrations, in-depth descriptions, cause and effect stories, books and book sets will always be essential learning resources. From the freshwaters to the forest, swamps to the seas, we have new books that not only explain concepts but offer activities to go along with the learning.
Call of the Wild
Give younger students a hand in learning about animals and nature with a selection of plush and expressive toys that are more than just stuffies for play. Our stuffed animal friends come with songs and call-sounds to help children learn the different ways that creatures in the wild communicate with one another.
